As of September 2023, I retired from the position of Editor of California Blacksmith Magazine. I started this job in January 2011, and it has been a great run! I appreciate the superb support that I received from CBA leadership and membership. During Covid, we had to pull back the magazine/communication efforts sharply, so I agreed, for a limited time, to take over a lot of work that we had previously done by staff. At the same time, we expanded our communication strategy to encompass a skinny print magazine, an expanded online magazine, and an E-Dition, sent by email. These were well-received by our members.
It has been a great job for me – I got to know and work with many excellent smiths, both in California and world-wide.
I will continue to work with the new magazine editor, becoming the Editor-Emeritus.
